Emma Rutherford Releases New Single ‘She’s Not Coming Back’
Following Emma’s Wellington headline show In Between The Verses at BATS Theatre in July, and the success of previous 2026 singles Gracie and Losing Sight making #3 and #18 on the Hot 20 Aotearoa Singles (Aotearoa Music Charts) and Rolling Stone Australia/NZ as ‘Best New Zealand Music of the Week feature’, Emma is back with another single She’s Not Coming Back.
She’s Not Coming Back is a deeply personal ballad that reflects on heartbreak, personal growth and moving on. After receiving a positive response from audiences when the song debuted at Emma’s Wellington show, Emma hopes it can be cathartic for others going through heartbreak and allow listeners to reflect on how far they have come in their own journey.
Recorded at Tiny Triumph Recordings in Wellington with producer Toby Lloyd, Emma is excited to add another honest ballad to the musical world she is building.
Emma has taken a creative leap with her new live show that includes both comedy and storytelling, as well as her original music. After a well attended and received Wellington season at BATS Theatre, Emma is gearing up to release more music and take her show In Between The Verses on tour across Aotearoa in 2027.
