Sid Diamond Returns with Powerful New Single ‘Return’ + Tour
Return is the opening track from Sid Diamond’s third album Everything, marking his return to music after a lengthy break. The song includes an interpolation derived from the song Mr Mista which was performed by Nesian Mystik and Kimbra, and written by the members of Nesian Mystik and Che Fu.
Return is written as a conversation between a fan and Sid, beginning with the fan asking where he’s been and why he disappeared from the scene. Sid responds by opening up about the realities of his absence dealing with loss, depression, and stepping away from music while building a family and finding purpose in fatherhood.
Rather than your typical comeback song, Return is an honest reflection on growth, healing, and rediscovering his passion. It sets the tone for the entire album, which explores life beyond the streets through themes of family, responsibility, identity, and resilience.
Return marks the start of the healing process. You have to listen to the album in full to understand what that means,” says Sid.
Return is both an explanation and a reintroduction. Sid hasn’t forgotten where he comes from, but the artist returning today carries a different perspective – one shaped by experience, whānau, fatherhood, healing and personal growth.
