TEEKS Announces Album ‘Lovers Comet’ + Releases New Single
Aotearoa soul artist TEEKS (Ngāpuhi, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui) announces his highly anticipated new album Lovers Comet, arriving Friday 30 October via Sony Music alongside the release of new song Overdose out now.
Five years on from Something To Feel, the album that cemented TEEKS as a household name, Lovers Comet sees TEEKS enter a new creative orbit. Following a period of profound personal and creative evolution, the album delves into desire, intimacy, identity and the transformative power of love through a deeply personal and celestial lens.
In TEEKS’ words – Lovers Comet is a meditation on desire – its purity, its danger, its euphoria, its shadow. The album explores love not as fantasy, but as a cosmic phenomenon: magnetic, unpredictable, breathtaking, and occasionally destructive. Like a comet, love passes through our lives with force and beauty – illuminating, disrupting, and ultimately transforming us.
Overdose offers the second glimpse into this new body of work after lead single My Boy was released in June. An intoxicating exploration of desire and surrender, Overdose captures the overwhelming pull of attraction the moment when feeling becomes all-consuming and the boundaries between pleasure, vulnerability and danger begin to blur.
