Murphy Moore Unveils Fervent New Country Ballad ‘Hurting Has A Heart’

Aotearoa New Zealand’s country-pop artist, Murphy Moore, is set to captivate listeners once again with her poignant new single, Hurting Has a Heart, out today across all streaming platforms. This introspective ballad delves deep into the complexities of the head and heart at war.
In Hurting Has a Heart, Moore showcases a vulnerable side of her artistry, encapsulating the bittersweet ache of loving someone who cannot reciprocate that love. With intimate lyrics delivered over a full live band, the track explores the uncomfortable space between sense and emotion.
“I wanted to write about that illogical pull we often feel when we know something is a little off or not quite right, but we hold hope anyway. I think it’s such a universal experience,” Moore reflects. “There’s something very human about that.”
The song opens with the evocative question, “How can I love someone who doesn’t want me for forever?” and unfolds a vivid narrative of emotion defying all reasoning.
Produced by multi-instrumentalist and engineer Christian Tjandrawinata, Hurting Has a Heart features slide guitars, mandolin, and thunderous drums, creating a moving country ballad. The single was recorded at Roundhead Studios with some of Tāmaki Makaurau’s top musicians.
With its blend of emotional honesty and lyrical wit, Hurting Has a Heart promises to be a standout addition to Murphy Moore’s discography. As she continues to carve her niche in the country-pop scene, this single is bound to resonate with fans and newcomers alike.
Hurting Has a Heart is out now on all major platforms.
