Single Review: Got This Feeling 1

Originally starting out as a covers band in 2017, Christchurch based acoustic pop duo Mirrors expanded their repertoire this year during lockdown, taking the opportunity to write and record seven original songs in their home studio. Got This Feeling is their catchy brand-new second single release.

This track is a funky pop number, contagious upbeat and easy to listen to. Gaining inspiration from Demi Lovato and Florence And The Machine, this is about the meeting of two strangers uniting to form a new relationship.

Got This Feeling is infectious, the years of performing as a covers band has given them a harmonious, cohesive sound. The band’s first release Only You was released in May and was added to The Hits playlist throughout the month of June, as well as making it into the NZ hot singles chart. They are off to a strong start with their collection of original work.

There is a smooth and groovy 1970’s retro vibe to this song. It has that summertime sound, which gives you a sense that sunshine is right around the corner.
