After a small hiatus to repair and recruit, Investigator is back, bigger and better than ever!
Top-tier guitar slinger, Chad Heesch has been a mainstay the last couple of years and now the band adds a new but familiar rhythm section in; Mark Dingle (Mother Motor) and Jason Wilson (New Damage) on drums and bass respectively. The pair met when Jason briefly joined Mark in Mother Motor and now with the two reunited and reinvigorated, it’s brought a new energy and professionalism to the group.
Starting out as a solo project in 2018 with an EP release and a collaboration with the Fast Crew’s, Jerome Fortune, it became a band out of necessity when Investigator was booked to play the Auckland Council’s Music in Parks. Adrian grabbed some muso mates and a band was formed. A full length length album came next, with airplay on The Rock for the title track Shade, a feature interview on Radio Hauraki, several NZ Music Chart and Radioscope Airplay Chart placements, play listings and 5 star reviews.
After teaming up with acclaimed producer, Scott Seabright, and bringing in session drummer, Jasper de Roos (Autozamm/Gramsci), their first single gave instant results. Madness was picked up by The Rock and then voted into The Rock2000! 2024 was turning out to be a highlight year for the band, with an opening slot for kiwi music royalty, Jordan Luck, at a sold Howick Club and playing the Whangarei Maritime Festival.
NZ On Air have also showed support for the band with a placement on their Making Tracks Compilation. While it’s overseas that has some real success stories; breaking the record for consecutive weeks at number one in Detroit, reaching the top spot of iTunes in Turkey, hitting number one on Spanish Rock Radio and getting fantastic reviews in Power Play Magazine and Happy Mag!
Look out for Investigator as they start to book shows again – this new lineup is not to be missed!
