From a land with a rich alt-rock history comes a group turning the generational Dunedin Sound page; the melodic alt-rock powerhouse MōTA.
MōTA has been together for a little over a year and are pleased to be finally getting some music out into the world with their latest release One. The line up consists of Jimmy Higgs (guitars & vocals), Craig Hall (bass, vocals & Te Reo vocals) and the South Island powerhouse Jason Chisholm (drums).
Their debut album One was recorded at Sublime Studios in Kurow under the engineering wing of Tom Havard and co-producer Stev Harrop, MōTA revitalise NZ alt-rock with a superb collection of songs. From driving riffs and catchy bass hooks to poetically observational lyrics and catchy melodies, MōTA cuts tight lines and massages the sweetspot of NZ’s alt rock quark-house.
One consists of seven tracks, three of which will be released prior to the launch night. One track every week on a Wednesday leading up to the launch show. All available on standard streaming services.
At the time of writing the first track Oversold has just been released.
