Wellington-based teen emo-punk band Rock Resurrection have announced their long-awaited self-titled debut album, set for release next Friday.

Pre-Save Here

Following singles including Why Do U Hate Me? and fan favourite Ticking Bomb, the band are finally ready to unveil a project over a year and a half in the making.

Recorded entirely in the Mackie Brothers’ home studio, Rock Resurrection captures the band turning raw potential into something fully realised.

More than a pop-punk record, the album tells a story. Resurrection represents the process of finding yourself again and regaining control after life’s darkest moments – a theme echoed in standout track Take Me Away, a slow, emotional cut centred on survival and emotional exhaustion as life keeps moving.

Fronted by Oliver Mackie alongside drummer Tommy Mackie, guitarist Elliott Conlon, and bassist Isaac Baty, the band describe the record as both personal reflection and social commentary. Vulnerability, depression, and systemic frustration are all compressed into 45 minutes of high-energy rock.

Blending emo, skate punk, trap influences, and thrash intensity, Rock Resurrection refuses to sit neatly in one genre. Instead, it delivers a chaotic, emotional journey – and, most importantly, a statement of arrival.

It’s raw, it’s loud, it’s vulnerable – and at its core, it’s a kickass album.

Don’t miss it – April 24.
