Dateline Share New ‘Live in Madrid’ EP Ahead of UK Tour

Today, New Zealand born and based alt-indie band Dateline share a stellar four track, live EP. The tracks were recorded in Madrid last year whilst touring with fellow Kiwi band The Beths.
Not only does the record serve as an enticing teaser ahead of their upcoming UK tour, but it also provides a vital opportunity for fans to show their support via Bandcamp.
The EP takes shape as a potent combination of old favourites and new material. Sharing more, Katie explained, ‘I decided to do a split of new and old songs. I didn’t want to give it all away but also wanted to showcase our newer sound.
What Is It Worth and Hey You Look Good are both unreleased singles that will be out on our next album. Hey You Look Good specifically seems to connect with people when performed live and people ask about where to find it online after seeing us play so hopefully this live version will keep people going. ‘
Today’s new offering follows on from Dateline’s recent single Meltdown which arrived as an honest and beautifully chaotic response to parenthood. It was produced by Pip Brown AKA Ladyhawke came out at the start of June. The track was warmly received by the likes of Rolling Stone AUS, Loud Women, Ones To Watch and Under The Radar NZ.
After Dateline had the pleasure of joining The Beths on their 24-date tour across the UK and Europe last year, it saw them make bold strides towards global recognition. Something they are continuing to build on this year. This autumn will see them embark on their own UK tour (see the dates and get your tickets here.) With independent artists being faced with relentlessly rocketing costs, Dateline have been working hard to raise funds to cover their tour costs.
If you wish to support them, you can browse an enticing range of merch and records over on their Bandcamp here.
Dateline has been making waves since they launched in 2017. Fronted and founded by Katie Everingham, the band has taken on many forms since launching but its trajectory has only continued upward following Everingham’s move to Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington. Working with trusted collaborators including band mate Reuben McDonald, Dateline has cultivated an impressive reputation. With two critically acclaimed albums already out in the wild, their impressive sound has not gone unnoticed, seeing them sell out shows across NZ and scoop acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, Under The Radar NZ, Loud Women and more. They have also been a finalist for the Silver Scroll Award.
As Everingham continues to refine and evolve her artistry through this new material, her fervent, vulnerable, and insightful storytelling shines through.
Gig-goers can expect purring guitars, raw emotion, unforgettable humour, and effortless showmanship. See the full tour dates below and where to stay in the loop with your new favourite band; Instagram / YouTube / Bandcamp
