DateMonthYear is proud to announce the release of their latest song Parkdale available now on all streaming platforms. Parkdale is the first in a collection of songs called ‘843’ which deals with a series of memories about growing up in suburban New Zealand in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Songwriter Trevor Faville says “Nostalgia is a funny thing. I grew up on a street called Parkdale Place and the thing with memories is their permanence-hence the line ‘we saw what we saw, and we said what we said’. You can’t change what happened, only how you feel about now”.

This is the first DateMonthYear tune to feature Brooke Baker in the lead vocal role, and Guitarist Tyler Leet adds 12 string and electric washes to frame a soaring melody- combining to evoke a sense of yearning or what Faville refers to as a “kind of studied melancholy”.

DateMonthYear is an independent music organisation based in Hamilton, New Zealand. For decades, it has been a means of exploring the world of independent Alternative rock – sometimes in the mainstream, sometimes right out on the fringes. It’s a journey that continues, with plans for further releases in 2026.
