Devilskin’s ‘Re-Evolution’ Debuts At #1 On The NZ Album Chart

Devilskin, New Zealand’s modern rock/metal juggernaut, may have just collected the most impressive jewel yet for their 2025 crown.

Their fourth studio album – and sixth release – Re-Evolution has debuted at #1 on the Official Aotearoa Album Chart. Following a monumental People’s Choice Award at the Aotearoa Music Awards, and a critically acclaimed 11-show tour of New Zealand; this marks the third Devilskin album to debut at the top of the Official Top 40 Albums Chart, and their fifth #1 release on the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Albums Chart.

Re-Evolution is the third local release to reach #1 in 2025, after Marlon Williams and Lorde. The achievement puts them in fine company too, moving to third on the all-time list of most #1 albums by New Zealand rock acts, behind only The Feelers and Shihad.

“This is truly a testament to the die-hard support that rock and metal fans have always shown for their favourite artists” says drummer Nic Martin, “We did everything we possibly could to produce our proudest work to date, but it’s the power of the people that enable this kind of achievement.”

The band promise to continue riding the wave of success, with a recently announced show at Brewtowns’ Amped Up 2025 Festival in Upper Hutt this October, alongside Blindspott and Shepherd’s Reign, plus more appearances to be announced in the near future.
