Emerson Takes A Leap of Faith with Debut EP ‘Leap!’ + Announces Tour
Emerson’s new eight-song EP Leap! captures the messy, magnetic and deeply personal world of being a teenager on the edge of something new. Reflecting on the project, Emerson says:
“This collection of songs represents the tip of the iceberg of my thoughts going through life as a teenager. The songs touch on self-doubt, self-motivation, and different ways I’ve given and taken love. It’s called Leap! because I started my solo project on a leap year and took a leap of faith, and I hope this EP can compel you to take that leap too.”
Since winning the Smokefree Rockquest Solo-Duo Award in 2024, Emerson has built a dedicated following across New Zealand and Australia with her infectious hooks, honest lyricism and electric live energy, establishing her as one of Aotearoa’s most exciting emerging pop artists. Leap! drops on 28 August, 2026.
With support from ZM Radio, Emerson and her band will hit the road for her first headline tour. The shows will bring together the songs that have fuelled her rapid rise, as well as feature brand new music from the EP.
Whether fans have been following Emerson from the beginning or are discovering her music for the first time, Leap! and the accompanying tour is a celebration of taking chances and stepping into the unknown.
