Head Lock Grave Release Latest Track ‘Earshot Violate’
New Zealand Groove-metal outfit Head Lock Grave have today unleashed Earshot Violate, the second and final single from their forthcoming album Rewake In The Mold of Travail.
Following the forceful release of Ruination, the first official track off the band’s upcoming album Rewake In The Mold of Travail, Head Lock Grave Have chased it up with “absolute powerhouse” – Earshot Violate, the last taste of the new album.
Earshot Violate is a force to be reckoned with…
The song is about rebellion – not rebellion for the sake of it, but rebellion against the people who try to shoot down what they don’t understand.
The track takes aim at the treatment of a new generation of musicians attempting to carve their own path in an increasingly difficult musical landscape, while simultaneously referencing the bands own personal experience with an attempt to get their name out there and being belittled and shot down by a local news outlet.
Head Lock Grave uses the track to embrace the very aggression that their critics attempt to suppress.
Earshot Violate stands as a declaration that the new generation doesn’t need permission to exist or evolve and stands as the
Official response to the insolent review constructed by one of our very own local news outlets:
“You saw the opportunity to throw shade on us, we saw the opportunity to write a song about it… consider this our official response to your insolent review”
Musically, Earshot Violate embodies the confrontation, aggression, and “deliberately difficult to ignore” theme that further represents Rewake In The Mold of Travail, an album centered around pain, conflict, and transformation. The single is the second and final preview of the album before it is unleashed in full, bringing the record’s themes into sharper focus.
Following the full album release this month, Head Lock Grave will continue the campaign with their “2026 Rewake In The Mold of Travail NZ North Island Tour, taking the record across five cities in the north island of NZ.
The new era for Head Lock Grave is upon us…
