Kaden Hura-McIntosh Releases New Album ‘The Achery Sessions’

Hawke’s Bay-based indie musician Kaden Hura-McIntosh has released his new album The Achery Sessions, being the third album coming from the young artist.
The artist has said that this new album and its story are drawn from his impressions of bars at venues during his 2025 gig season. The song A Drink Tonight from the album was directly inspired by and first written at The Cabana, a bar and venue in Napier, Hawkes Bay, where the artist occasionally performs, most recently playing the new song on stage. Much similar to the artist’s previous work, this album details themes of unrequited love, uncertainty in blooming relationships, feelings of virtual torture, as well as feelings of unconditional and bittersweet devotion to a person.
The lead single Ride! came out just a week earlier in late May and was described by the artist as embodying the feeling of not having life figured out by the end of your youth, not knowing what’ll happen in life, and just living for the ride and winging it every day.
The album was written, performed, recorded and produced, mastered, and released by the artist independently, and no generative AI was used by the artist in the process of songwriting, production, or album art.
