Leigh Releases ‘Empathy for My Future Self’ Album

Leigh, is the solo project of Tāmaki Makaurau-based Cameron McCurdy (she/her). Her third album (But her first as herself) releases this Friday on the 20th of June, the one year anniversary of her starting HRT.
Empathy for My Future Self is a raucous, deeply transgender, multi-genre 13-track art pop album, self-produced by Leigh and mastered by Tyler ‘Shamplooh‘ Trench, with artwork painted by Tashi Donnelly.
Featuring the singles Comfortable?, I Still Love the Moon (#1 on the bFM Top 10), and March of the Cucks (#4 on the bFM Top 10), as well as fan favourites Coleoidea & Twenty-Two, and a choir of genderqueer Tāmaki Makaurau musicians on the trans anthem He’s Giving.
Written & recorded in bedrooms from Tāmaki Makaurau to Tākaka, the album features contributions from Finn Grieve, Evelyn Jones (CCTV), Baby Zionov, Ruben Mita (Rabbit as King of the Ghosts, Dog Fork), Josh Parker (The Nukes, Daily J, Leigh), Jessie Booth (Elemeno P, Ekko Park, Velveteen Shakes, Leigh), Kieren Norman (Ekko Park, Velveteen Shakes), Velveteen Shakes, deryk, Finn Johansson, & .leafwise.
Leigh is celebrating the album’s release by playing it in full at a 3-show short tour of the North Island:

Wellington: 12th of July at Boneface Tavern for Riften & Vines
