Lost Tribe Aotearoa Share Life Lessons In New Single ‘Legacy’

Today, Lost Tribe Aotearoa (LTA) release their new single and lyric video Legacy. Legacy is about the journey trying to find our place in this world and handing down what we learn on the way to the next generation.

Lost Tribe Aotearoa (LTA) are a family-based band who champion conscious messages through their lyrics. Legacy is a song about the journey to try to find your place in this world and handing down what you learn on the way to the next generation.

“Legacy is about our journey as people trying to find our place in this world, mentally physically and spiritually, our teachings we learn on the way we hand down to the next generation ” shares Lost Tribe Aotearoa. “What we do in this life is what we leave for the next life, as we are all part of this legacy. “

The Legacy Artwork and Lyric Video was created by Josh Parata (Riddim Cartel). This is a visual interpretation of the vibe and message within the song. Visually bringing to life the underlying themes including the rise and fall of the sun which represents all life within Te Ao Māori. The sun rising in the East represents the birth and growth of new life,, while the setting of the sun in the West represents death, thus representing all existence. The surrounding landscapes and imagery is reminiscent of times of old when our ancestors walked the land.

Legacy is an old school NZ Roots styled track with subtle tape delay and reverb to give it a slight Dub feel. “There is a ghostly sounding melodica and big warm bassline to glue it together to really set the vibe and feeling of the track. Tight horn lines also give the song that Lost Tribe Rootsy feel” share the band. “The lead vocal by Tux Severne is hard hitting with harmonies stitched together by a familiar sound you only get when singing with whanau (family). There is an unmistakable One Drop by veteran drummer Boyd Dixon to keep the heart beating.”

Following the release of Shaka and Lost Generation 2.0, Legacy is the third single from the bands forthcoming EP Lost & Found.

Lost Tribe Aotearoa (LTA) are an 8-piece band from the surfing town of Raglan, New Zealand. You will most likely find at least one of the band surfing at Raglan’s local break at any given time. Hailing from all over the Pacific, most of the members being of Tūwharetoa (Māori) descent, as well as Aitutaki (Cook Islands Māori), American and English – their ancestral vibes shine clearly through their music.
