Meddles Release Follow Up Single ‘Taste of the Past’

Meddles are an alternative rock band from Auckland, New Zealand, consisting of Oliver Whiley (lead singer, guitarist), Alex Crook (guitarist), Sammy Woolfall (bass), and Simon
Roberts (drums). Their sound comprises of gritty guitars, overlaid with melodic hooks; generating anthemic-style ballads.
Their debut single, Down Every Road, “locks into a tight, restless energy, a track driven by fizzy guitar textures and a vocal tone that nods to early 2000’s alt-rock.” – Empty Spaces
Meddles follow up single, Taste of the Past set to release June 12th, presents their versatility as a band; leading with a more organic and acoustic sound, telling a story of nostalgia and fleeting youth.
The past year and a half has seen Meddles frequently gigging and jumping into the studio to record their debut EP, set to be released in 2026. Highlight gigs include headlining multiple shows at Ponsonby Social Club, supporting Christchurch-based indie-rockers Pool House, and opening for Dunedin’s Ivy at Whammy Bar.
