We all know what the world’s biggest musical acts get up to when they hit the stage in New Zealand, but what songs really inspire something in the crowds below?

Everyone has their favourite songs which have a different meaning for different reasons, so we’ve picked out some hits that should spark interest and raise a wry smile from those going to the biggest concerts in New Zealand this year.

The R&B legends have had a number of stunning hits over the last two decades and awaiting fans will no doubt want to hear all the classics (such as End of the Road) when the band hits Wellington and Auckland in October. However, if there’s one track that should stick out for any Spanish speakers in the audience it is Una Canción Para Mamá. Despite being from Philadelphia, the Boyz often inspire a little Latin charm with a Spanish version of Song for Mamma.

The members of 10cc will resume there on/off relationship once again this year when they travel to various cities in New Zealand for something of a reunion tour. Of course, topping the bill will be their most recognisable hit, I’m Not in Love, but with a lot of focus on the stock markets over the last few years, especially thanks to the Wolf of Wall Street movie, the crowd could be inspired to emulate Leonardo DiCaprio after the band belts out Wall Street Shuffle for three minutes and 51 seconds.

One of the biggest rock bands in the world, AC/DC are sure to be a hit when the visit New Zealand and thanks to a back catalogue that stretches on for an eternity, there is no end of inspiring hits to choose from for fans. Indeed, regardless of whether it’s Thunderstruck, Highway to Hell or Back in Black, the band will no doubt have the crowd rocking when the lights go up. However, for any casino fans in the crowd, the most likely highlight will be She’s Got the Jack (a reference to a game of cards).
