Oscar Dowling Releases New Single ‘Wilding Pine’
A decade on from his debut Free and Easy, Oscar Dowling (New Gum Sarn) returns with his sophomore release In a Kingswood on St. Benedict’s Street, out July 10th on local imprint T & M.
The first single, Wilding Pine turns over at squeeze box pace on the subject of whenua, and the cycles that lead us to this moment in time. The words and sounds are presented pointedly, with little fanfare. The single is accompanied with a music video directed by Hash.
Featuring a band made up of Tāmaki scene regulars; Mason Fairey (Te Huhu, Louisa Nicklin), Paul Brown (Trust Punks, Horror in Clay), and Liam Pram (For The Girl Who Has Everything, Short-Chain), the album was recorded at Studio B in Roundhead over a week in the middle of 2025 with producer De Stevens.
