Push Push Release Brand New EP ‘The Truth’ + Announce Supports

Push Push are thrilled to announce the release today of their brand new EP The Truth.
In tangent with this news, Plus1 Tours are also announcing the support acts for the Helensville and Mt Maunganui legs of the Push Push 35 Years of Trippin’ tour: Fork and Corrosive Moses, who line up alongside Snuffer (they’re playing Hamilton and Auckland).
The Truth had a traditional Push Push birth, as a jam in an industrial warehouse on Auckland’s North Shore… but this time finishing it became a more protracted exercise with half of the group living busy family lives in Australia.
So when Push Push guitarist Andy Kane had to head back to his Sydney home nursing a yet-unfinished tune, weekly trans-Tasman calls began between himself and fellow songwriter Mikey Havoc, to find out what they had and what it could become.
Back-and-forth ideas across the ocean was a new technique that took some time, but once it came together the band worked on being in the same city as often as possible to get it recorded
Rhythm tracks were recorded at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios, with vocals at The Depot in Devonport and Big Pop in Auckland City. The guitars and final mixes completed in Bondi, Sydney.
It’s a brand new song that the band are super excited to release, alongside the other 4 tracks on their new EP, also named The Truth.
The Truth is a reminder that, in these times, be very careful what you put into your head!
