On Bags, an instrumental of glistening midi strings, lofi pads and earnest vocal chops juxtaposed by tight clicky drums, lay the foundation for Smurgy’s stream of consciousness vocal performance about moving on from the past. This release provides a sonic contrast from the pair’s previous releases, taking a more minimalist production approach as opposed to recent collaborations on maximalist alternative pop tracks Press(sure) (Smurgy) and God is The DJ (boyracer).
