Steve Wells Releases New Single ‘Friends’
Steve Wells is best known as the guitarist in platinum-selling, award-winning Aotearoa New Zealand rock band Fur Patrol, but the Paris-based multi-disciplinary artist has recently been stepping further into the solo spotlight.
Having explored a more electro-cinematic universe, Steve is back to his roots of dirty guitars, driving bass, drums and vocals, kicking off 2025 with his new indie-rock single Friends, written for his young daughter.
Friends is a song about the inevitable heartbreak she will one day experience as she grows up, and wanting her to know that she will not be alone.
“Look to the stars, they are shining for you,
look to your friends, we are here, we are true,
You’re not alone we’ve all been here before,
hearts in our hands and we’re ready for more”
Friends was written, recorded & produced by Steve in Paris, and released to the world on the 10th of April.
