Taranaki’s DarkWater Release Powerful New Single ‘In Spite Of…’
New Plymouth alternative rock trio DarkWater today release the powerful track, In Spite Of…, the second single from their upcoming third studio album.
Driven by heavy riffs, soaring melodies and an unwavering sense of momentum, In Spite Of… reflects on life’s challenges, while celebrating the resilience to keep moving forward. It’s a song about embracing the journey, no matter what lies in the path ahead.
Recorded at Tideline Audio and DWHQ in New Plymouth, the track was mixed and mastered by Marc Gernhoefer at Tideline.
The release follows The Climb, released in December 2025, with both singles to appear on DarkWater’s third full-length album, due this summer. Continuing the band’s love of the album experience, the new record will also be available on vinyl, marking DarkWater’s second vinyl release following 2024’s Turning Point.
