Lead track Better Days is a Black Seeds classic and an exciting taster of what is to come from the new record. Rich with chugging guitars and soothing vocals, the track is warm with a positive message:
Better Days are calling, lonely nights are leaving. I see better Days, are just around the corner. No it wont be long till something good happens for ya.
“It’s a mantra and anyone who is struggling, to stay positive and not give up” says vocalist Barnaby Weir. “To strive for what’s important to you.”
Bringing reggae foundations into a contemporary space, The Black Seeds have written a winter must-have.
After a couple of years touring the world and juggling festival slots, The Black Seeds have focused their efforts throughout 2016 & 2017 on recording of the new album. Around recording sessions, The Black Seeds played for the first time ever in Brazil – playing four sold out shows in Sao Paulo, Curitiba and Porto Alegre, as well as attending to their Canadian fans with a sold out show in Vancouver and a headlining spot at Victoria BC Ska Festival.
With a 10-date US / Canadian tour coming up in June and more tours to be announced, 2017 is shaping up to be a big year for one of New Zealand’s favourite bands, The Black Seeds.
