The Mara Unleash New Single ‘Three More Hours’

Taranaki genre bending outfit The Mara return this week with their new single Three More Hours, an indie rock feast that leans into classic Kiwi songwriting, warm horn lines, and an unhurried sense of longing.
Built around a steady groove and a chorus that asks for just a little more time, Three More Hours captures that familiar moment where a fleeting connection feels like it might turn into something more, if only the night didn’t have an end point. The song balances restraint and romance, letting the brass carry the weight where words pull back.
Musically, the track draws from the lineage of classic New Zealand rock while keeping a modern indie edge. It’s confident without being loud, and patient enough to let the melody do the work. The horns bring colour and lift, adding a sense of celebration to a song that’s ultimately about vulnerability and hope.
Three More Hours drops today, Friday 19 December, with a release party taking place the same night at Ōakura Town Hall.
