Following a hugely successful debut in 2026, Ultra New Zealand has confirmed its return at Wellington Waterfront on Friday, April 16, 2027, with fans able to sign up now for pre-sale ticket registration ahead of the next chapter of the internationally renowned electronic music festival.

The announcement follows a landmark first year for Ultra New Zealand, which brought the Ultra Worldwide festival brand to Aotearoa for the first time on April 10, 2026. The event attracted 23,320 unique attendees and sold out within approximately three weeks of tickets going on sale, establishing Wellington as a destination for a major international electronic music festival.

The 2026 event featured performances from global electronic music heavyweights, including The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Zedd, Oliver Heldens, and Alison Wonderland, alongside a diverse selection of local talent. Across four stages, more than 30 international and New Zealand artists performed for fans who travelled from across the country and overseas to experience the festival on Wellington’s waterfront.

The event also delivered significant economic benefits, with an independent evaluation finding a net national benefit of $8.57 million and $5.46 million in visitor spending across the Wellington region. A total of 9,496 visitors travelled to the region because of the event, contributing more than 23,000 visitor nights.

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, Ultra New Zealand 2027 promises another world-class electronic music experience, bringing the signature energy, cutting-edge production, and top-tier talent of the Ultra brand back to the country’s capital.

The 2027 artist lineup will be announced at a later date, with fans encouraged to sign up for pre-sale ticket registration and be among the first to hear further news about the festival.

Ultra New Zealand 2027 is proudly supported by the Government’s Events Attraction Package and Wellington’s Major Events Fund. “It’s fantastic to welcome Ultra back to the capital in 2027. World-class events like Ultra attract visitors, boost our economy, and provide a valuable platform for Kiwi DJs to showcase their talent to international audiences right here at home,” says Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upston.

“Ultra New Zealand created an unforgettable atmosphere across Wellington earlier this year, and we’re excited to see that energy return. The festival brings tens of thousands of visitors into the city, supporting local businesses and creating a real sense of vibrancy that can be felt right across Wellington. From the first beat drop to the final set, Ultra helps Wellington’s economy and reputation hit all the right notes” says Mark Oldershaw, CE at WellingtonNZ.

Ultra New Zealand is part of the Ultra Worldwide family, which continues to cement its status as the world’s most international music festival brand. Boasting active events on all six inhabited continents, including the flagship Ultra Music Festival in Miami, the global festival brand is heralded for delivering an unparalleled combination of top-tier electronic talent, cutting-edge technology and large-scale productions.
