Vic Vega raises awareness with concept album ‘The Autobiography of Lennox Kirikau-Dennis’

Rising New Zealand rapper and actor Lennox Kirikau-Dennis, AKA Vic Vega, has announced the release of his brand-new concept album, The Autobiography of Lennox Kirikau-Dennis, set to drop on February 2, 2026. At just 25 years old, Vega has been steadily carving out his place in the music industry, determined to have his voice heard across the country.

Following the underground success of his previous projects, One Day, I’ll Get My Revenge and A Thin Line Between Life & Death, Vega is now preparing to share his most ambitious and personal work yet. Partnering with New Zealand advertising team Phantom Billstickers, he is bringing his message to a wider audience.

The upcoming album is a concept record, inspired by legendary works such as Pink Floyd’s The Wall and Prince’s Purple Rain. Across 35 tracks – written and recorded in just one month – Vega tells the story of an aspiring autistic rapper navigating the challenges of trauma, depression and workplace incivility, and school bullying, culminating in a deeply emotional narrative of survival and resilience.

“This is my most personal album to date,” Vega shares. “I want it to bring hope to anyone who is struggling with their own battles.”

The project was completed between September 3 and October 31, 2025, with the support of Auckland’s Crescendo Trust of Aotearoa, a youth-focused recording studio and mentorship programme.

With this release, Vic Vega aims not only to showcase his artistry but also to spark conversations around mental health, identity, and resilience. His journey from underground recognition to national spotlight marks a powerful new chapter in New Zealand’s hip-hop scene.
