Wilka Releases New Single ‘Villain’

Wilka makes dance-pop that hits emotionally as much as physically.
Born in Poland and moving to New Zealand at 12, she grew up between cultures and identities, something that still shapes her music. After releasing under the name Pat Piasta, she stepped into a new chapter as Wilka, meaning “she-wolf” in Polish, reconnecting with her roots while building her sound in Aotearoa.
Wilka today announces the release of her newest single, Villain.
Villain is a fearless dance-pop anthem about reclaiming your identity after being cast as the “bad guy” in someone else’s story. Inspired by manipulation, betrayal, and the pressure to live up to other people’s expectations, the track captures the moment self-doubt transforms into defiance. Blending dark electronic production with an anthemic pop chorus, it’s about embracing your own power and refusing to be controlled.
The song was co-written and produced with Devin Abrams (Pacific Heights) and marks Wilka’s boldest sonic evolution yet.
