Young bedroom music producer from Auckland, Grace has just released the first track from her EP Music From The Cupboard. Echo Thoughts is a captivating track of ethereal vocals enveloped in a luscious techno beat.
The 22 year old singer-songwriter producing Electronic Indie Pop from her bedroom cupboard, has quietly been working on her skills as a producer since winning the Lion Foundation Song writing Competition back in 2015.
Grace’s music is often a journal of her life experiences, and this is no exception capturing the emotion felt after a break up; “Echo Thoughts captures the rawness of the emotion in this time, juxtaposing feeling with fear”. What I really enjoyed about this track is seamless merging of soft, hazy otherworldly vocals with smooth guitar and a tidy beat.
As a true solo artist, Grace also writes, produces, films and edits all her own material. When she is not making music, she is working as a Civil Engineer.
If Echo Thoughts is anything to go by, her EP Music From The Cupboard will definitely be on my radar as one to watch out for.
