Sodalight are set to release their debut single ‘Always Be’
Always Be explores the conflict that arises when someone cares about someone and wants to be there for them but finds it difficult due to circumstances beyond their control. The song was written after being let down by someone, but still having the faith to be there for them. Always Be conveys mixed emotions and speaks from a vulnerable yet hopeful perspective, with its dreamy melodies and emotive vocals, the song also evokes nostalgia.
Sodalight is a Wellington-based up-and-coming band. The band was formed in mid-2022. The band members come from diverse cultural backgrounds and grew up listening to a variety of music, which they are utilizing as a strength in the songwriting process. After being close friends for a year and sharing common influences like Tame Impala, Coldplay, The 1975, and Paramore, they decided to form a band. Despite being one of Wellington’s newest bands, they have already performed at local venues such as Meow and San Fran, receiving positive feedback and energy from the audience. They enjoy music that conveys emotion and hope to create similar music themselves.
