New Single from Ripship

Moore’s Law is the second single from Ripship’s yet-to-be-announced album cycle. The single releases on digital platforms at midnight on the 7th of October, 2022.
Moore’s Law taps into feelings of technological anxiety and fear of exponential growth, particularly the fear that a truly intelligent AI has already been created and is simply biding its time. Lyrics detail the life of a power-hungry digital intelligence as it gains consciousness and develops an unquenchable thirst for human blood. This is the second single of three in our upcoming album cycle, and will be performed and promoted through a tour planned Nov-Dec this year. Psychedelic ascending guitar lines over a polyrhythmic 5/4 drum groove create a driving forward momentum, which culminates in an energetic thrash-metal finale.
The song has long been in the duo’s live rotation as an energetic closer, and has finally been given the loving treatment it deserves to be enjoyed in a digital format.
Guitars were recorded by Ryan Brand at Cordial Studios, the rest was recorded and produced by Peter Ruddell. The song was mastered by James Goldsmith.
The single artwork is a composite of hand-drawn typography and an AI-generated image of a surrealist, post-apocalyptic landscape.
Moore’s Law will be streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, YouTube, Tidal, and any other digital streaming service you can think of.
