Hans Pucket Star In Trash Recital — New Episode Out Today

UTR presents Trash Recital, produced by Sports Team

Hans Pucket perform ‘My Brain Is A Vacant Space’ — Episode 8 / Season 2

We’re thrilled to share the eighth episode of UTR presents Trash Recital Season 2 — starring Hans Pucket, produced by Sports Team and made with support from NZ On Air!

Watch Hans Pucket perform My Brain Is A Vacant Space | Trash Recital Season 2 Episode 8 HERE.

For each episode of Trash Recital we’ve invited some of our favourite Aotearoa artists into the UTR studios to perform one of their songs, re-created using everyday items selected from Sports Team’s stockpile of recycled junk. Trash Recital not only provides a launchpad for stunning reimaginings of recent (and soon to be) classic tunes, but also the perfect opportunity for a chinwag with our local musical heroes.

Our new episode stars Hans Pucket, the Tāmaki Makaurau / Pōneke team of twin brothers Oliver and Callum Devlin (Dateline), Jono Nott (Onono, Broods) and Callum Passells. They’re launching their long-awaited second album No Drama on 4th November via US imprint Carpark Records (home of The Beths and Chelsea Jade), and dropped by UTR’s super city headquarters to perform a sensational trashed-up rendition of their new single My Brain Is A Vacant Space. Experience the rollercoaster ride of emotions as bass player Callum Devlin (who also films and edits the show as one half of Sport Team) expresses his fear that this might be “the first failed Trash Recital”, and singer / guitarist Oliver Devlin recalls the time he was locked out of the studio and had to phone his mum, before Hans Pucket absolutely crush it — using such everyday items as rubber gloves, a plastic hose, tennis racket, a Superman PEZ dispenser and our ever-popular portable DVD player.
