Electric Wire Hustle Announce US Show Dates
Wellington based soul band Electric Wire Hustle were very proud to see their debut album released internationally through renown UK based taste-maker label BBE in July. The release was followed by european shows which saw them visit London, Vienna, Frankfurt, Poznan, Berlin, Basel, Amsterdam and wow european audiences for the second time in less than a year.
Even though EWH only formed little over 2 & a half years ago they have quickly and quietly captured the interests of an international audience alongside international music aficionados such as Gilles Peterson & Benji B who both selected EWH tracks in their top 10 for 2009 and have been consistent supporters of EWH’s blend of beats and soul.
In the U.S. EWH’s album cracked the album charts of Los Angeles radio station KCRW and was selected as the number 1 album of 2009 by KCRW Djs Aaron Byrd and Anthony Valadez which was an unprecedented honour for the group.
When EWH were selected to showcase at New York’s notable College Music Journal (CMJ) New Music Marathon this year a dream was realised and dots were connected to create their first U.S. tour which kicks off next month with their debut performance on the 13th of October in Santa Monica.
“Performing in the U.S. has definitely been a long term goal for both myself and the band” says EWH’s drummer Myele Manzanza. “It is definitely a dream come true for us and hopefully it is just the beginning.”
