BeetBITE dig in with their new single ‘Plant A Tree’
It’s April 1st, but happily, this isn’t a prank. Award-winning children’s’ music duo Levity Beet and fleaBITE today release their new single single Plant A Tree, under the name of beetBITE.
With two of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most-loved children’s songwriters behind it, beetBITE are releasing a single every two weeks, culminating in the unfolding of two EPs on July 18, which featuring 11 songs for adventurous young listeners.
beetBITE is the product of two creative brains – a father and an auntie – having a load of fun. Between them, Levity Beet and fleaBITE have taken the top spot at the Aotearoa Music Awards nine times (Best Children’s Album, Artist, Song and Video).

Planting a tree is a positive, active response to the craziness in the world, and Plant A Tree is probably the most educational – and of course grounded – song from the new beetBITE collection.
Plant A Tree introduces children to the names of native Aotearoa New Zealand trees, and encourages us all to grab a spade and get digging. Plant A Tree is a joyous call to band together and get active in the outdoors.

Plant A Tree is a bilingual song, and mentions many beloved Aotearoa New Zealand native trees: Kawakawa, Ti Kouka, Kowhai, Nikau, Pohutukawa, Titoki, Rimu, Rata.
The beetBITE project is supported by NZ on Air in their first ever ‘New Music Kids’ Project’, which encourages experienced children’s artists to produce ambitious projects.
