Makayla Releases Silky Sophomore Single ‘Be Mine’
Rising RnB online songstress Makayla releases new single Be Mine, out now via Massive Records. Co-produced by EDY & Astro, the smooth and sultry jam has an origin story like no other after it received the nod of approval from 2000’s icon Timbaland during an in-studio livestream.
In true online fashion, Makayla (Ngāti Kahungunu Ki Heretaunga, Te Whakatōhea) turned to her fans to vote on her next track inspiration – underscoring the deep connection she maintains with her followers. The clear winner? A situationship. After using this idea to write Be Mine during a session, those in the room were treated to ideas and suggestions by Timbaland after he jumped onto the stream.
Of the track Makayla says “Be Mine is about being stuck in the unknown with someone you’d want a relationship with. Nowadays known as a “situationship”. The track is relatable to anyone who is sick of the waiting game and just wants to move forward with their person – or else it’s see ya!”.
