Since debuting in November, Lace Mine has gained momentum, with over 50,000 streams behind her and 15 million views on footage of her first single, Wolf.

Lace Mine’s newest single Wait is her most stripped-back yet, an intimate acoustic track written in a cabin in Canada.

The single follows the release of Haunt, which featured on the Aotearoa Hot 20 Singles chart last month. Where Haunt offered intensity and emotional urgency, Wait leans into stillness.

“I wrote Wait on Vancouver Island, where I lived in a cabin for a month. I wanted the recorded version to capture the same intimacy as singing in a wooden space,” Lace Mine says.

Wait explores the tension of a presence that lingers in the body beyond its welcome. Sonically, the track is sparse and atmospheric, built around acoustic textures and subtle ambient layers that puts the voice front and center.

For listeners drawn to the atmospheric weight of artists like Phoebe Bridgers and London Grammar, Lace Mine’s Wait should appeal. The track forms part of her forthcoming EP, Body, out May 27. The tracks were all recorded in London with producer JMAC.

Wait’s accompanying visualiser also drops on release day, shot by Hamish Ogilvie.
