Wellington trio A.R.T have joined forces with internationally recognised Pacific artist Sammy Johnson (AKA Sammy J) for their new single Make Me Believe, released as part of the group’s ongoing First Thursdays campaign.

The collaboration marks a genuine full circle moment for the group, who first met Sammy Johnson years ago during a visit he made to their school while they were still young singers discovering their passion for music.

What began as admiration from afar has since grown into a real friendship and creative partnership, with the artists now sharing a record together.

Blending lovers rock inspired island reggae with smooth melodies and rich harmonies, Make Me Believe explores the vulnerability that comes with learning to trust and love again after heartbreak. The song unfolds as a conversation between two people navigating emotional baggage while trying to believe in love again.

The lead vocals are shared between Anastasia from A.R.T and Sammy Johnson, while Roseta and T-R3X provide the layered harmonies that have become a signature part of the group’s sound.

Produced by The Ikonics, the track also features drums recorded in Hawaii by Elias English (from the band Maoli), with mixing and mastering completed by EDYONTHEBEAT.

The release follows A.R.T’s successful New Zealand and Australian tour supporting Josh Tatofi, continuing the group’s growing momentum across the Pacific music scene.
