And in many ways it is. A love letter to the band itself. Four friends who’ve been making music together in various forms for over 10 years. Today, juggling kids, exercise routines and hectic work schedules, but still finding time to squeeze in recording sessions and labour over their craft. It will resonate with anyone who strives to create a joyful space where there is “no fault, no fear.”

Self-recorded and produced in Auckland – strictly without any AI intervention – this single is the first release from their sophomore EP Waiting Rooms, out 23 October. For fans of Arm’s Length, No Pressure, Hundredth, Turnover, Balance & Composure, and the Story So Far.

Some Distance is a four-piece band from Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, making music that fits somewhere between modern pop punk, 2000’s post-hardcore and Midwest emo. Formed in 2024, the band is made up of longtime friends and collaborators with roots in the New Zealand and Australian music scenes. Across 5 songs, their latest EP Waiting Rooms explores protecting what you love against the threat of loss: sick loved ones, mental health, your connections and ultimately, what makes you feel alive.
