Late June Unveils ‘What Are We Waiting For’
With a mammoth 2026 under his belt including showcasing at BigSound 2026, charting at #5 on the ‘Hot 20 Aotearoa Singles’ with Let’s Just Do It Righ’, full rotation on George FM (NZ) and Sirius XM Chill (USA) as well as touring with Shallou & supporting Tobiahs, Aotearoa-based producer Late June returns in quick succession with a brand new single titled What Are We Waiting For, the final glimpse of his upcoming EP Knight due for release in December.
What Are We Waiting For melds a deepened yet uplifting groove with a warm instrumentation base consisting of ascending synths, elegant pianos and a playfulness evoked from the hypnotic vocal sample on offer. With these elements combined, Late June achieves a state of tranquility that instills calmness across the soundscape, inviting listeners into a welcoming environment over the course of the duration.

Late June is the moniker of Aotearoa-based producer Sonny Bevin who boasts an incredibly prolific output across a catalogue spanning nearly ten years. He has amassed a considerable following through three albums, EPs and a multitude of singles. These releases have seen significant support from streaming giants Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and Pandora, as well as tastemaker radio support from George FM (NZ), Triple J (AUS), KNHC 89.5 (USA) and SiriusXM Chill (USA).
He’s also created remixes for the likes of nauru (IND), Molly Otto (USA), XIXI (FRA), Jedha (USA), Niko Walters (NZ), Pines (AUS), Ark Patrol (USA), We Are Fury (CAN), Shae District (USA) and Rootkit (NOR). In the live arena, Late June is an accomplished DJ and performed at Our:House Festival (2023) alongside Meduza (ITA) and Kah-Lo (NGA), Mystery Festival (2024) on the main stage alongside Nicole Millar (AUS), Friction and Vibe Chemistry, Famous Last Words (2024) alongside Pendulum (AUS), Scenic Sounds Block Party (2025) alongside Loods (AUS) and Baron Von Trax (AUS), and has supported Shallou (USA), BAYNK (NZ), Tobiahs (AUS), Nosaj Thing (USA), Mt Eden (NZ) and edapollo (UK). He was also selected as part of Converse’s All Star campaign in Eora/Sydney for a workshop with Tyler The Creator.
