Robinson has today released Heavenly Hell of Mine – a collection of pop gems, which sees the celebrated NZ-born, UK-based singer and songwriter venturing into new sonic landscapes with honest, hard-hitting lyricism.

The five-track EP includes the new single, Matisse’s Garden, which stands out as one of the record’s most organic tracks. “So far, the songs have been big and anthemic but I wanted to show the softness that lies in simplicity and what happens when we let the song speak for itself,” says Robinson. And while Matisse’s Garden is the record’s most simplistic song in terms of sound and production, its powerful message is in keeping with Robinson’s refreshing and honest approach to songwriting, which delves into love, pain and everything in between.

“This song is about what can happen when we seek love to unknowingly fill a void or lack within ourselves. It can cause us to attract people with the wrong intentions.”

Matisse’s Garden sits on Heavenly Hell of Mine alongside previously released singles The War On Art, which looks at the darker realities of the music industry; Landslide, which captures a conversation between the artist and her shadow self; David Blaine, which bravely opens up about the realities of eating disorders and body dysmorphia and the euphoric Wild Horses about diving into life and love.

Made with support from NZ on Air, Heavenly Hell of Mine was created over the last 12 months, in which time Robinson – who has been based in the UK for the last few years – was living out of her suitcase while housesitting. “Each song has been written in different houses, from Ealing to Hampton Court, to Colchester and so on.”

Produced by long-time collaborator Charles Macdonald, mixed by Dan Grech and Lee Smith, and mastered by Chris Gehringer, Heavenly Hell of Mine is the latest chapter in Robinson’s exciting story, which has seen her rise from young emerging Kiwi artist who cut her teeth at Rockquest, to acclaimed singer and songwriter, who has toured with heavyweights such as OneRepublic and clocked up a whopping 129 million streams on her breakthrough smash hit, Nothing To Regret, which is certified Platinum in New Zealand and double Platinum in Australia.

Heavenly Hell of Mine is Robinson’s third EP and follows 2020’s Watching You and 2023’s Chasing Nirvana.
