Arahi releases new single, ‘Her Love’s Gonna Tear Me Apart’; announces EP coming in October

Rising Aotearoa artist {Arahi{ has today released the outstanding new single Her Love’s Gonna Tear Me Apart; the first from the upcoming EP Revelator, out October 30.

An ode to destructive love, the track’s rolling waltz rhythm and repetitive attack of the keyboard gives a slightly manic, unhinged feeling. This, coupled with an emotive horn section offering up a sense of freedom and space, gives Her Love’s Gonna Tear Me Apart a unique depth of exploration into the complexities of love and heartache.

“This song is about accepting the inevitability of ‘the end’”, explains Arahi. “It’s always there lurking, biding its time, eventually it’ll sneak up on you – ready or not. In this song ‘Love’ is used as the most widely relatable example, touching on being aware of the risk involved and how it could hurt you but waltzing gleefully into that storm, arms and heart wide open.”

Recorded at Roundhead Studios, the single was mixed by Steven Marr, and mastered at KOG Studio by Chris Chetland.

“This single is a milestone for me as an artist; it’s allowed me to welcome arranging brass sections and vocal harmony interludes into my original music,” says Arahi. “While I had been arranging such things for live projects, working with the full band and Dave Kahn at Roundhead Studios has allowed that to finally reveal itself in my recorded works.”

Her Love’s Gonna Tear Me Apart comes after the stunning recently released singles There’s Nothing Like It and The Best Thing I’ve Ever Seen, and is just another example of why Arahi is an artist whose career you’re going to want to follow.

Although not a household name (yet!), he has built a reputation as a bona fide artistic soul, who juxtaposes classic and contemporary sound with an eclectic, eccentric band. Always with a flair for the theatrical, he continues to push the boundaries of indie music and leaves his audience wanting more.
