Bella Rafflyn Releases ‘Corduroy Boy’
Alt-Pop stand out Bella Rafflyn today releases sophomore single Corduroy Boy alongside music video featuring online phenomenon Oliver Mills, out now via Massive Records. Co-written with Chris Mac (Six60), while sticking to her signature clever lyricism and guitar-heavy performance, the new track offers a slightly different sound in the world of Bella Rafflyn. With a melody that makes you want to grab beer and head to a gig, the track is a fresh and exciting taste of Aotearoa Grunge-Pop.
“The song means a lot to me, I’ve been playing it live for the past three years and every time I play it, everyone in the audience loves it, I wanted to make sure the track fully captured the vibe and energy of a live gig and I feel like that’s what it does, it sounds huge” says Bella.
Shredding on stages across the country, Rafflyn opened for a string of acts last year including Lime Cordiale at Auckland’s Town Hall, followed in summer with a set at Rhythm & Vines. Bella first cut her teeth as lead vocalist for Indie-Rock band Coast Arcade and has since also connected with fans through performing guitar for Frankie Venter.
The young performer has spent years under the guidance and mentorship of Six60 bassist Chris Mac after he first witnessed her on stage in 2021. Bella’s journey has been one of passion and dedication. She’s already made huge waves, both locally and internationally, and has an incredible amount of live-performing experience on some of the biggest stages across the country. With her explosive energy and magnetic stage presence, Bella Rafflyn is poised to make a lasting impact on the music world.
