This year was another packed run of shows and festivals for Caru, carving his own lane as a mainstay on the line-ups across the motu. From being part of the first ever Aotearoa Boiler Room curated by Lady Shaka to Rhythm & Vines then Cross Street Festival to CubaDupa, then heading on the national tour with UK DJ Yung Singh. Without taking any breaks, the start of 2025 also saw him release UK Garage inspired EP Back 2 Back alongside lauded MC & rapper Brandn Shiraz, plus a Single of the Year win at the 2024 Mighty Alternative Awards for collaboration track See No Evil alongside Church, deadforest and Dera Meelan.

What began as a simple Instagram message to Osmosis Jones in 2023 – exchanging music back and forth – eventually evolved into an international collaboration. For Caru, the connection was natural: “InTheHouse Records has been a super inspiring label for me. I absolutely love the curation, direction, and passion behind the label. They’re often my favourite tracks to play in my DJ sets.” With Osmosis Jones’ deep ties to the UK underground scene and support from key figures like Interplanetary Criminal, Prozak and Dr. Dubplate, the releases on InTheHouse Records have become a staple in clubs across the UK.

Caru Is In The House showcases Caru’s razor-sharp production and instinctive feel for dancefloor-driven energy. Blending the gritty bounce of late-‘90s Speed Garage, while weaving in the modern flair of the contemporary UK Garage revival. Caru pushes the sound forward, delivering a fresh yet familiar vibe that’s primed for the Aotearoa club scene.

Speaking about the vision, Caru says “This project is built for the club! They’re written and produced with DJs in mind, and sound their best when they’re blazing up the dance floor. The tracks are a result of extensive studio and club experimentation, and they encapsulate the sounds that I’m most drawn to in club music at the moment. It’s important to me that these tracks are immersive and exciting to listen to, inviting the listener to get lost in them.”

You can catch Caru playing alongside Brandn Shiraz at The Others Way Festival in Auckland on 29th November, and kicking off the new year at Twisted Frequency Festival in Tākaka on the 1st January. Further 2025/26 Summer festival dates will be announced soon!
