Clemintine Makes A Racket With New Single ‘Horror Stories’
It’s metaphor.
Recording Clemintine’s Horror Stories had the audio engineer in stitches, the mastering engineer called it literally “dangerous music” and after bearing witness to a live performance Reverend Orange Peel of Red Raven News stated “Same doomy air of vintage Black Sabbath from the guitar progression and turns up the heat as the singer gains in intensity. (Horror Stories) has the manic vocal style of John Lydon when PiL dropped the classic Metal Box.” The song was even dubbed “Prog-Punk” by John Baker.
Horror Stories is a densely layered three course grunge banquette with creeping hypnotic verses, huge wailing choruses and abrasive punk refrains that exhilarate, delight and may even induce some form of Stockholm syndrome for your musical captor. On the surface the song weaves a narrative of kidnapping, torment and torture, however as the literal meanings of certain repeated phrases are hammered home the line between fiction and reality gets obscured, lost in a mess of blood and viscera.

Clemintine are a punk pop trio whose symptoms suggest a psychotic break and paranoid delusions. Normally calm, but has a tendency towards violence when excited. They continue to harbour strong fantasies and a violent persecution complex. Their moods swing between calm and violent aggression coupled with that strong persecution complex and a tendency to solve things through violence
