Destruction And Rebirth Feature In Two New Missy Singles

Ekpyrosis is the ancient Greek for conflagration. It’s the opposite of Kataklysmos (Cataclysm), meaning the end of the earth by water, ergo Ekpyrosis is the end of world in fire.

With this metaphor, Missyh (aka Abigail Knudson) explores the themes of destruction and rebirth in these two new companion singles Ekpyrosis and Only Lovers When The World Ends.

“The songs are about finding love at the end of times. A soul mate for the cynic, who needs to let their concepts be destroyed & prepare themselves for the new path,” explains Missy.

Ekpyrosis and Only Lovers were both written and recorded in my home studio, with Only Lovers receiving some much needed love and input from mentor Nic Manders. They are polar opposite in some ways, and explore a hugely tumultuous period of my life that I am extremely grateful for.”

“They’re both symbolic of the end of the world in some respects, with one coming before the other, or being necessary for the other to have happened.”
