Zed Brookes of Dr. Z says, “I Forget is an upbeat but emotive song about storing somebody you care about’s personality and memories inside an electronic chip, so you can still talk to them after they die – but it’s a read-only memory, so every time you power it up and talk to them, they realise that they will forget everything you just talked about when you shut them off again.

This is the second single (and final track on the Chaos Engine album), and is likely the most raw and immediate song in the collection.

Apart from the only slightly ridiculous tacked-on 80’s key change outro (which was designed to complete the album’s cyclical concept narrative, and inject some light and hope into the big finale and closing curtain), the remainder of the track is almost entirely a set of live-performed first takes, most of which were put down in a single 2-hour session. Then we brought in guest singer Fliberty George to layer up the moody chorus vocals.”
