Eimear Kelly releases new single ‘Combust Crush’

Eimear Kelly’s newest offering Combust Crush is a coming-of-age anthem for the romantically unhinged – cinematic, emotionally raw, and of course, danceable. With the breathy, intimate vocals of Tāmaki Makaurau artist Eimear, layered over punchy, synth-pop production, the track channels the euphoric chaos of yearning so much it feels like your heart might literally explode.
Co-produced with the talented producer/jazz musician Andrew Isdale (Isdale) and mastered by Chris Chetland (Lorde, Drax Project, Marlon Williams), Combust Crush blends synth-pop with the heady drama of delusional romance.
“This song is for when you’re having a main character moment – driving full speed with the windows down at 9pm, trying to contain that nauseous yet addictive feeling of a crush… but of course, you can’t,”
Following her latest single Eat Away (produced by Adam Rivers), Eimear took a step back to refine her sonic identity – quitting her job and pouring herself into the songs she couldn’t leave behind. Combust Crush is the first taste from this introspective period of self-discovery.
If you haven’t got a crush, go find one – or risk missing out on heart-combusting season.
