With candid lyricism and a pop rock feel, Apprehension is an addictive earworm by rising alt pop artist Emily Bateman.

Emily describes the song as being about “feeling unsatisfied in a relationship and craving attention and validation from outside sources. It’s not a very flattering self-portrait but it’s honest!”

Over the past few years Emily has built momentum in the Auckland music scene, gaining editorial playlist support, single funding, opening slots for Georgia Lines, Caitlin and There’s A Tuesday and co-writes with artists like Heidi Simpson and Jessica Leigh.

Apprehension is the second single from Emily’s upcoming EP set for release in the next few months.
