Estere shares new single ‘Animal Pleasure’ and 2021 tour dates

It’s summertime in New Zealand, and Animal Pleasure is just as steamy as the weather predictions for the next three months. Estere’s beat-laden soul-infused delivery of her latest single unleashes her personal Lilith, laying down her up-front agenda for attending a nighttime soiree – a delightful tryst.
Animal Pleasure focuses on the archetype of sexuality, through a portrayal of lust and desire. Estere depicts herself as unabashedly on the hunt for some consensual satisfaction, a “pleasure high to remind you you’re alive” as she sings it. Estere says, “This song is about recognising my own instinct as a female, human, ANIMAL and acting upon it without fear or shame.” The playful mood of the track is conveyed through a sparse, hook driven guitar line that interweaves with infectious rhythm as well as Estere’s seductive vocals.
Often likened to both Little Dragon and St Vincent, in 2019 Estere’s songwriting and producing prowess grabbed the attention of esteemed Massive Attack producer Stew Jackson. Together, they created the future forward throwback album, Archetypes, featuring Estere’s soaring vocals, body-moving R&B grooves, dense production and engrossing narratives.
Animal Pleasure is the third single from Estere’s upcoming and highly-anticipated third album, Archetypes, to be released on 22 January 2021 through all streaming platforms and on vinyl through Blue Riot Records, in New Zealand.
