High-Voltage Trio BB & The Bullets Unleash New Single + Video ‘Midnight Rider’

High-voltage Whanganui blues band BB & The Bullets drop new track and video Midnight Rider today, the first single off their soon-to-be-released new album Wrong Side of The River.
A live-show staple and crowd favourite at blues clubs nationwide, Midnight Rider explodes with upbeat, classic blues fire in the tradition of Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Lee Hooker, and ZZ Top. The rhythm section of Brad and Stu drives it forward like a freight train, while Brian’s gritty vocals and searing guitar deliver a gripping tale of a late-night driver facing a terrifying head-on collision with a motorbike rider – his life flashing before his eyes in a moment of reckoning.
As Brian reflects: “I wrote Midnight Rider from the perspective of that driver staring down mortality, questioning everything: ‘How did I end up here? Was it grace or will or love or fear?’ It’s got that urgent, driving energy that just demands to be played loud.”
Hailing from Whanganui, Aotearoa/New Zealand, BB & The Bullets are a dynamic three-piece blues-rock powerhouse: Brian Baker (guitar/vocals), Stu Duncan (bass), and Brad MacMillan (drums). Known for their soulful originals, killer covers, and unstoppable live shows, the band blends timeless blues grit with modern rock muscle.
Their debut album High Tide earned international acclaim and chart success, and their forthcoming sophomore studio album Wrong Side Of The River is set to take their rocket-fuelled sound to even greater heights.
Since bursting onto the scene, BB & The Bullets have earned a reputation for blistering live performances and tireless touring. From intimate blues clubs in Raglan and Wellington to packed gigs in Dannevirke, Paihia, Milford Beach, Hamilton, and beyond, the band has played to enthusiastic crowds across the country, leaving fans hungry for more.
With their well-deserved reputation for killer live shows, the band are working hard to consolidate their burgeoning fan base by hitting the road again over the next few months.
It is clearly evident that the blues scene is alive and vibrant on Antipodean shores, so pre-order the new album Wrong Side Of The River, grab your mates and tickets – don’t miss your chance to check out a blues-rock experience like no other with BB & The Bullets!
